The Gateshead-based leather repair and restoration specialist has 13 franchises in operation across the UK, including one in Epping in Essex, run by Mike Browne.

Having launched in January this year, the former property developer now employs two full time members of staff and is about to move into a new workshop.

He said: “I initially contacted Furniture Clinic because I was about to purchase a Range Rover with worn leather upholstery. After speaking to them I began to realise that there could be huge potential for a leather repair business.

“At the moment all of my work is coming from the public, with the majority supplied by head office, repeat business and customer recommendations. However, I am starting to take more of a management role in the business and looking at securing work from insurance companies, furniture shops, and car dealerships.”
