The company began in Melbourne, Australia in 1994 when a self taught DIY expert was completing some work around his house and his wife’s friend joked, “Can I hire your hubby?”

Having grown to become the largest franchise of its kind in Australia, with over 300 franchisees, Hire a Hubby has launched in the UK, with seven franchisees in operation, and a national recruitment drive now underway.

Candidates must have the skills and knowledge to be able to run a professional property services business, and must complete a five-day training course and undergo security checks.

All Hire a Hubby franchisees carry photo ID and are covered by Public Liability Insurance, with all work guaranteed by the company.

CEO Geoff Willett said: “It’s exciting to see things taking off. The demand from people wanting our services has been fantastic; now we just need the DIY heroes to give us the nationwide coverage.”
