FIVE years on from launching his ChipsAway auto paintwork repair franchise Rob Marshall is making big plans for business growth.
These include putting a second vehicle on the road and recruiting staff to help him cope with the growing demand for services.
With a career background in the automotive industry he knew the motor trade - and the ChipsAway name - very well when he went along to a franchise open day at the company’s head office.
He made the decision to join them, and says that he never really contemplated any other franchise business.
At his launch weekend he generated a huge amount of work which kept his diary full for his first few weeks, and he says he has been busy ever since. His turnover last year was up by 35 per cent up on the previous year, in spite of the challenging market conditions, and this year is expected to be higher still.
He said: “I’m much better off than I would have been if I had stayed in my previous job, and my quality of life has improved beyond all recognition.”
